A feuilleton inspired by the 1998 production, by Jossie Wieler and Sergio Morabito, of Georg Friedrich Händel’s Alcina, revived this season in Stuttgart. The production serves as a springboard for reflection on man’s connection to the world of values, the interpretations they are given in culture, and the human rebellion against such value systems, as well as the quest for new ones.
