Patrycja MIKULSKA, A Shared Language

Cena brutto: 7,00 PLN za szt.

By referring to the thought of St. Augustin, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Jan Łukasiewicz, and Stanisław Judycki, the author considers possible meanings of the claim that language is a common good. In particular, the role of language as a tool to establish social ties is discussed with a special emphasis on the “truth of things” as the ultimate foundation of any community. In this context, the author also argues that the responsibility for language should be shared by all its users, and in particular by those who, like scholars, may be expected to show high linguistic proficiency and awareness of the influence they exert on others.
