The article is an attempt at describing the poetic meditations of Karol Wojtyła. The author focuses her attention on mystical experience combined with the universal image of looking into the depth (reaching the bottom), drawn from the Greek myth of Narcissus and reinforced by the psychological explanation of „narcissism.” The meanings of philosophical reflections contained in the works of the author of The Roman Triptych were highlighted against the background of aquatic and solar metaphors.
